The aim of this research is to investigate the implementation of teacher professionalism and the code of ethics at the education unit level. Despite the fact that teacher professionalism and the code of ethics have been in place in other parts of the world for a long time (even in Finland since 1998), the discussion of the code of ethics in teacher identity and the practical implementation of these concepts have produced an inverse impact, which is less symmetrical. Furthermore, the discussion on teacher professionalism lacks detail and is predominantly normative and administrative. The aim of this study is to explore teacher professionalism and a code of ethics as a follow-up to downstream policy instruments involving stakeholders, specifically the government's involvement in education. This study is an urgent investigation that will be implemented institution-wide and sustained over time. The research methodology employed is a qualitative literature review. The study found that teachers' professionalism and adherence to a code of ethics are fully integrated into the promotion of peace and sustainable education, in line with SDG 4. The study also highlights the importance of teacher and institutional identity across all educational levels
